Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5
Operating System: WinXP

I would like to put Tick Marks at the data values on my x and y axis. There a somewhat clunky way of doing this with multiple layers but the values all get printed inside the graph axes. http://www.originlab.com/www/support/resultstech.aspx?ID=492&language=English&Version=7.5
I once had a macro (sent to me by Origin Tech Support) that would do it automatically and put the data labels outside the axis where they normally are. I cannot duplicate this.

Does anyone know how to do this? Either a macro our multiple layers would be OK, but I want the text/labels to be printout outside the boundary of the graph.

Beautiful. Thanks. Easier than a macro.

In the A(X), B(Y), C(L) worksheet you create for the custom tick labels set the B(Y) values to the y-coordinate of the Y axis. After you plot the custom ticks you may need to select Format > Layer and uncheck the Clip Data to Frame option on the Display tab in order to see the tick labels.
