Hi All,

I have files with names that start to be different only at 14th character like

aaaaaaaaaaaaa1
aaaaaaaaaaaaa2
aaaaaaaaaaaaa3
aaaaaaaaaaaaa4

(this is just an example). When importing files these names are changed into Data1, Data2 and so on. Is it posible to adjust somewhere to be able to import this large-lenght names?

Thanks
oliver

You can name the worksheet same as file...

Import Wizard:
Check the Rename worksheet to file name option on the first wizard page.

Import ASCII:
Select ASCII Options > Other Options and check the Rename Worksheet to Data File Name option.

That said, a worksheet name can have no more than 13 characters so the index (14th char) at the end of your file names will be stripped. Since the full path\name is usually used for the worksheet label you can always abbreviate as you like and rename the worksheet.
