Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5 Demo
Operating System: CPU: Core 2 duo 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM

Hi all!

I would like to know wether there is a possibility to remove certain characters/numbers/last entry in a columns cell in origin.

Situation: importing different files at same time. In other software it was possible to search for character and replacing them. With 470000 entries in a data file it takes very long time to get finished.
The problem is that the data files have different delimiters and I try to erase the ';' in one of these files. OpenOffice needs about 1 min - which is quite fast already - to remove all ';' (about 8600!(eight thousand six hundred) pages of data). This would be a useful function in Originlabs wks to do it there.

Has anyone another solution to save more time?
Is this possible with labtalk script?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards
Tom

Hi Tom,

This Origin C function removes all quotation marks from all columns. It can probably be modified to do what you want.
