I have a problem getting Origin started. After freshly installing it on XP system it was running one or two times properly. I tried to open it today an got the following application error:
'The instruction at "0x00000117" referenced memory at "0x00000117". The memory could not be "read".' I can then choose between termination and debug, which will both lead to a closing of the program.
I hope someone can help me with this, otherwise I run in deep trouble with finishing my Ph.D. thesis in time.
Best wishes, Satchmo
p.s. running the repair routine did not help.

Posted - 04/19/2007 : 12:19:14 AM I had the same problem. The way that I found to work around it was to download and install all of the updates available for Origin after a fresh installation and prior to actually trying to open Origin (it runs just fine on the installation launch, but not thereafter). |

I'm up-to-date on XP critical patches and Origin 7.0 works fine for me. I have the latest version (SR4) so try updating your Origin.
Did you install or modify any custom toolbars while your Origin was running? If so take a look at this topic... http://www.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4882 It discusses O75 but the same problem exists in O70.
