Hello all together!

I have started with Origin some weeks ago. (Almost) everything is working fine; however I have a problem with labelling my contour plot.

When I want to add special characters (e.g. "mm^-1") using escape sequences in the suffix-entry of the "Numerical Format"-sheet they appear as "mm\+(-1)" just as I entered it. Whats wrong with it?

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

I'm afraid the only formatting available for prefix and suffix is on the Label tab.

Dear Mike,

thank you for your answer. However, the format toolbar is deactivated when entering characters into the suffix text field of the "Numerical Format"-sheet. When labeling the axes of the contour plot the format toolbar is deactivated as well, but in this case escape sequences work fine.

When editing "in-place" you should use the Format toolbar rather than entering escape sequences directly. Escape sequences are used only in the Text Control box.
