I also have problem with editing Origin objects in Office 2003. The same problem: can't modify graphs in Excel or Word. But I don't have Vsta and UAC. Colleagues said that it worked in Word 2000 but not now in Word 2003. Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance. |

Posted - 09/20/2007 : 6:59:21 PM Hi!
Finally the problem was solved! The User Account Control (UAC) in my computer was ON. After turning it OFF Origin works well and I can modify the plots once they are pasted into Word! :D
Thanks for your kindness, help and replies.

Posted - 09/15/2007 : 6:02:47 PM Hi,
I have German Version of Office 2007. Windows Vista Home (German) and Origin 6.1 (English)
It seems to be that in this Word version "Paste Especial" does not exist.
Thanks again

Posted - 09/10/2007 : 09:29:05 AM In earlier Word versions you can Paste Special to force insertion as an Origin Graph Object. Perhaps Word2007 still has that option?

Are you using a German Word 2007? Maybe you can provide what's your Windows, Origin and Word version. We can copy and edit under English Windows and Words.

I wasn't but I already checked it. It's the same, I can't modify it once it's in Word.
Thanks |

Posted - 09/07/2007 : 4:43:30 PM Hi,
Thanks Larry!
I did what you said. I pasted the graph into a word document and saved it as .doc. Like this is only possible to modify the plot as a image but not directly as Origin link. I have to open the original Origin file, work on it and paste it again into the word document, what is somehow tedious and time consuming . What I can infer from your comment is that Origin 6.1 and Office 2007 are not yet compatible, isn't it?, pitty!
Thank you a lot. |

Posted - 09/06/2007 : 10:09:03 PM Hi:
On our site, It's ok to edit the graph once pasted it into Word2007, and it's also ok to edit it if save the file as .doc. However, if save the file as .docx, we can't edit it anymore, since the .docx is a new format.
