Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Windows ME 2000

I've data in the form:
x y
0.1 0.22
0.2 0.34
0.3 0.56
0.3 0.66
0.4 0.78
0.42 0.4
0.5 0.5
0.53 0.55
0.32 0.45
0.45 0.78

I'd like to bin in y in x and see the correlation, if any, graphically. I'm able to convert datasheet into a matrix using 2-d binning by selecting y, but how can i plot the binned data.

Hi,

Once you bin to worksheet, you can make an Image Plot from the Plot menu with the matrix active. This basically plots each cell as a pixel/raster graph so one can visually see if there is correlation.

You may want to try version 8, which is available for demo download now. This version has a Scatter Matrix plot that can draw confidence ellipse and report R^2 value for linear fit, for every pair of column in a worksheet. That does not bin the data, but it can perhaps convey information on correlation that you are looking for. Version 8 also has other correlation tools.

You can download demo from:
