Dear all,

1) consider a dataset:
X,Y,Z values; random distrubution.

2) consider last week:

click
"Edit"
->
"Convert to Matrix"
->
"Random XYZ"
->
choose "Renka-Cline"

*done!*

3) consider this week:

click
"Edit"
->
"Convert to Matrix"
->
"Random XYZ"
->
choose "Renka-Cline"

*error message!*

"OriginC routines failed to load properly"
and
"Error! Failed to sort and/or replace duplicates with mean value."

I can't make heads or tails of it. Do you have any idea?

Thanks,
reg

Hannes

Hi there,

there is another problem with this Conversion.
I am working under WinXP.

Following the steps of the Origin 7 Tutorial # 6 (3D Surface and Contour Graphs) one has to convert worksheet data to a matrix (steps 21 to 26).

As long as I am working as administrator under WinXP, everything works fine, but as soon as I am just a user with limited rights, I get a similar error message as HannesK:

"OriginC Gridding routines failed to load properly."
and
"Error! Failed to sort and/or replace duplicates with mean value."

Does anybody know a solution for this problem?

Thanks,
Carsten

Forget I said anything. Replacing the dll as outlined above fixed my problem.

It there a permanent work around for this problem? I have the exact same setup & issue. If I change the default printer to somthing else, I can get the matrixing to work, but when I change back & restart origin, the problem is back.

Thanks,

Joe

Dear Mike, dear Larry,

as mentioned in [this][/http://www.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6197] topic, changing the default printer solved the problem.

Thank you very much for your support!

Probably Larry's URL is no longer valid because OriginLab has reorganized its site for Origin 8. However, this URL still has the same information...

http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?s=12&lm=65&pid=1004

The DLL available there might even fix your script window problem. Although the article only talks about Origin 7.5 the DLL should also work for Origin 7.

The article also implies that changing your default printer might work.

Hi Larry,
thank you very much for your answer.
However, the link is somehow outdated. Nevertheless, I think you intend something like

...the newest SR's (in my case SR2 to SR4?)
...some DLL's (in this case i found nothing appropriate..)

funny thing is that this matrix conversion worked once, but does not since a couple of days...

Ok, I'll keep trying and I'll keep in touch

Not sure what's the problem, maybe you can update a new DLL follow this instruction first.

Thanks
