Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.0725
Operating System: microsoft windows xp

After i exported my graph to eps or pdf format, i found that some symbols can not be displayed, e.g. "angstrom". Same problem existed in origin 7.5 sr6. Maybe it is a font related problem. I want to know whether there is a solution. Thanks in advance.

We used ACDSEE Pro 8.1. But this should not be the problem.

Would you mind sending us your graph or project and we can look into this more?

You can e-mail it to tech@originlab.com . Please refer to this forum post in your e-mail.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.
It still failed when openning the eps file with ACDSEE(version 9.0).Could Origin export files with static fonts? I mean the reason for the symbols in Origin could not be recognized in its exports(under the "Individual Bitmaps" option),e.g., pdf and eps, should be a failure of font links. In other words, recognization of symbols should be also support for the exported files, maybe do not take them for bitmaps simply and only.

For EPS export, Origin has exported the symbols to the graph. Could you use other readers, for example ACDSee, to read it?
For PDF export, since "Combine All BitMaps" and "Individual Bitmaps" use different method to dispose bitmaps, so it is reasonable with dofferent sizes.

Thanks, Deanna. Follow your instructions, it still does not work when exporting to eps (gsview 4.9 is used to display eps), but i does when exporting to pdf. Surprisingly, i get a much larger pdf file, 1M with "Combine All BitMaps" option or so, but 7k with "Individual Bitmaps" option. How does this difference occur?
Thanks in advance.

For PDF export, after selecting PDF as the export format in the expGraph dialog, select Combine All BitMaps with the Handling drop-down list under Image Settings--Pdf Options--Basic Object.

For EPS export, after selecting EPS as the export format in the expGraph dialog, select Combine All BitMaps with the Handling drop-down list under Image Settings--EPS Options--Basic Object.

This should include angstorms in your exported file.
