Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): Origin 8
Operating System: Windows Vista

I cannot import data. That's basically my problem. Whether I click on the toolbar import buttons (all three of them), or go to file menu -> import, it really doesn't matter because they all do nothing.

What's funny (or not) is that this only happens on my Laptop (HP Pavilion). I have installed Origin on my desktop PC and importing worked perfectly. Afterwards I installed it on second laptop with Windows XP OS, and it also worked.

I am clueless as to why this is happening.

Any help would be most welcome!

Hi,
We have tried your problem in HP laptop with Windows Vista, while it works fine.
Could you reintall Origin in your laptop with a clean folder? That's to say, delete the system folder of Origin and reinstall it. If the Import button still cann't work well, could you install Origin in another computer and see if the problem still exist?

Thanks
Fay

Thank you for your attention.

1. My OS is Windows Vista
2. Used default installation paths
3. Only costumization was exactly on import file types (unchecked a few boxes), but I tried to install with all the default settings (several times) and it didn't work anyway.

Hi,
I am sorry I cann't reproduce your problem. Could you open the Code Builder and do import again? And check what message shown in Code Builder.
While could you give us the following information in order to find the causation?
1. Your regional setting, Operating System
2. Did you install to new folder? What User files folder did you choose?
3. During installation, any customization?

Thanks
Fay
