Hi, I want to fit a bivariate Lorentz equation to a measured spectroscopic peak. I am not sure if Origin 7 can do it, but I read the article:
Origin does not seem to have provisions for fitting 3-dimensional data. Is there a way that I can do this? on http://www.originlab.com/www/support/resultstech.aspx?ID=57&language=English&Version=7.0
The general formula for a Lorentzian fit in 1 dimension given by Origin is y = y0 + (2*A/Pi) * w/(4(x-xc)^2 + w^2)
I now need the generalization of this formula for 2 dimensions, z=f(x,y), with one offset, 2 FWHM and a Volume V, instead of an Area A and 2 center positions xc and yc.
I guess something like that is implemented in Origin 8 Pro. Can anyone help me ? |

While in Origin 8, we have provided Lorentz2D in Nonlinear Surface Fit.... And you can download an demo on our website to evaluate this new feature.
