I would like to make a polar contour image with a known contour function. How to realize this?
Thanks,

There is no such function. In Origin, I think it's more handy to set the levels in Plot Detail dialog (double-click the plot). And we can't make a continuous color levels, however, you can always increasing the levels to make it looks like continuous.

I can generate XYZ data set for the polar contour. But it's time consuming and more difficult if I want more contour levels. I just want to know if there is a convenient way to plot with an analytical function.
Thanks,
BTW, it is possible to use a continuous instead banded coloring method?

Origin supports creating polar contour plots from XYZ data. Please see the following page for detailed explanation and examples: http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?s=8&lm=210&pid=1062
You mentioned that you have "a known contour function". Can we generate XYZ data from the function and then create a contour plot? If I misunderstand what you mean by "contour function", please explain further on this or show me an example. Thank you!
