Hi all!
I have two questions. First one, is it possible to select multiple rows which are not connected, i.e. #1, 3, 5. This is because some data I import si splitted up, so I have to clear out some rows and if I have to erase each row one after the other, this can be very annoying for big data sets.
The second question is about assigning multiple columns - I can select them and assign them with X/Y/Z, but I can't choose the x- or y-error if I have selected more than one column. Is this possible with my version of Origin?
Thank you in advance, Chris |

Thank you for the reply - I think I have to upgrade. And the y-Error-column select will be fine, because these error bars I use most time.
Thanks a lot, Chris |

Posted - 02/08/2008 : 09:50:34 AM Hi Chris,
1. Sorry that we don't support multiple row selection in 7.0. But we support it in our current version (Origin8), You can press Ctrl key and select multiple rows and then Delete.
Also in Origin 8, we support more options during import. E.g. there is a Skip Data Rows edit box. If you set it to 1, it will skip every other row so that you can import e.g. 1, 3, 5 rows. You can save such import settings as a theme for future import.
2. In 8.0, user can highlight multiple columns and click Y Error button on Columns toolbar to set them. This is an improvement from 7.0. We still don't support selecting multiple columns and set as X Error.
Thanks, Snow Li OriginLab Corp.
