Hello,
I am having problems using Origin 6.1 to open certain projects created by a coworker using version 7.5. Each of the worksheets and plots in such a project file has a label that is displayed in addition to the worksheet/plot name. When I open the project in version 6.1 and look under the menu "Window", only the worksheet windows are listed, and nonsense appears where the number/name/label of the plot windows should appear. Further, in addition to the number/worksheet name/label in this listing, an extensive amount of other information appears immediately following the label. One example is "@{[0|1|USER|826|3220392039]}[VARIABLES]". Other examples of such extra text incorporate the filename and header of the datafile imported into the given worksheet, e.g. "@{[0|4|ImportHeader|777|1817856996]}'<filename>' <header>". Clicking on the spot where "More Windows..." should appear (this text doesn't actually appear under the "Window" menu: only nonsense text does) causes Origin to crash.
Curiously, I can open certain other, similar projects that were created in version 7.5 by this colleague just fine in Origin 6.1. However, since we don't understand what causes the problem, we can't avoid it, and this causes us to waste considerable amounts of time. Is it possible to avoid this "backwards" compatibility difficulty somehow?
Thank you very much. |
