Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 8
Operating System: WinXP

I tried to do an an XYZ graph but I get absolutely no dialogues when I go to XYZ gridding or Direct or Expand. I'm using a fresh install AND I also tried with the sample files. It's always the same it seems it starts to work and then nothing.

Another problem I have is that I'm apparently unable to "translate vertically" any graph. I choose the graph, go to translate vertical, choose the reference point and drag and drop the line... I see a ghost of the spectrum shifting but when I let the mouse button go nothing moves!

I would be very grateful if you can lend me a hand here.

Ups, forgot to reply!
Anyways... I finally got to update OriginPro correctly. I did it at work the first time, so perhaps that's why it wasn't a clean update. Back at home I repeated the update by downloading the patch from the main page. And sorry but I think I no longer have the log files from the first failed update (I deinstalled/reinstalled and uptaded).

And now it works wonderfully... thanks!

Hi:

You still got SR0 after updated? Did you got the "update success" message after updated? Or did you get any error messages? Please let us know exactly what you see when trying to update Origin.

If you don't mind, could you please send these two files to us (tech@originlab.com) if you can't update:

"ohttplog.txt" and "updateRet8.xml"

in the Origin .exe folder.

Of course you can manually update, please download the SR1 patch from the following web page. Please follow the instructions provided on this page:

http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?s=9&lm=316

Updated Help files are also available from this same web page.

BTW: In SR0, you can open some other analysis dialogs, such as "Statistics on Column", and then open the gridding dialog again to fix this problem.

Thanks
Larry

I already updated, but after the online update through Origin I still have the 8,0724 version. Should I download the SR1 update from the origin site even if it says it's not necessary for OriginPro users?

These 2 problems are bugs in Origin8 SR0. Could you please update your Origin to SR1 and try again? To update the build, please select Help: Check for Updates
