some questions about 3d-graphs:
i have a diagram with x,y,z axis, showing points we measured.
i used a data sheet with three columns and set them as x,y and z.
1. i now want to colour some of these points differently. is there a way to do this?
2. i want to use a colour filling, changing from red to green, for the xy plain. is this possible?
3. we had some problems with exporting pdf´s. we used templates, generated diagramms with 6 layers (2d) and exported them via "print as pdf". It often resulted in parts of one layer being displaced. is this a common problem and is there a bugfix for it?

thank you very much, helped a lot.
any ideas concerning my other question (different topic) if there s a possibility to use the same template library from different computers? we have the problem that now, if new templates are added, everyone either has to add these templates manually to the library or replace the template.ini. any ideas?
for example is there a way to put the template.ini on a server so every origin uses the same template.ini when initializing? |

You can add an addtional column to the worksheet and use the cells in it to control to color of the points. In the below example, there are 4 data points. Column D is for controlling the color. The third cell of this column is 2 and others are 1. This means that the data point (2, 1, 3) will use the second color in Origin color list, that is red. Other points will be black--the first color in the list.
After you have created the XYZ scatter plot (all points are black by default), you can double-click on the data plot to open the Plot Details dialog. Select the "Original" plot on the left and then go to the Symbol tab on the right. Choose Indexing: D with the Edge Color list. You will see the symbol color is based on column D.

Sorry. The XYZ scatter plot does not support this feature. You can only use single color to fill the planes.

First of all, I suggest upgrading to SR6 because there have been many bug fixes after SR3. To upgrade, you can select Help: Check for Updates from the Origin menu. If problem persists after the upgrading, you can email your graph to tech@originlab.com with a link to this post.
