Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5
Operating System: Win XP

I created an origin graph with 4 layers. Subsequently, I deleted 2 of the layers, leaving a large blank region on the page. I would like to eliminate this blank space, so that when the graph is exported the white space doesn't appear (see attached .png file). By going through the plot details - Print/dimensions it is possible to resize the page, however doing this scales down all the objects on the page and it frustrating to have to reformat/resize the layers and all the text, label, etc... Is it possible to resize the page without effecting the size of the objects on the page? Or alternatively, is it possible to control the export dimensions? (ie: tell origin to only export part of the page, ignoring the blank space)

Thanks for your help,
Chris

Thanks for your help!

I had played with that tab unsuccessfully before. However, with your advice, I re-read the help file more closely and it says this only works for vector image files, and the format .png, which I was using, isn't one them! Using a different format (.pdf) your procedure fixes the problem!

Hi Chris,

Invoke the Tools>Options menu to open the Options dialog, and then switch to the Page tab. There you can set the Margin Control drop-down to Border or Tight and this will then clip the outer white space in the page and leave that out of the export. Note that if any object is situated outside the page, these settings will include that as well, leading to a larger page. So make sure you do not have other objects on page outside of the desired export area.

In version 8, the settings in the Options dialog do not affect the graph export and affect only copying and pasting to other applications - the same settings are instead accessible in the File->Export Graph dialog.
