Origin Version : 7.5
Operating System: WinXP

My worksheet contains a categorical X column data (e.g. 9027, 8620, 056SM.), and I want to plot a column graph. Origin uses the X column values to create X axis tick labels, but the tick labels are ordered alphabetically (beginning with numeric values) - 056SM, 8620, 9027.
I want Origin to plot the data in the order I input them - e.g.
9027, 056SM, 8620.

Excel did this in a single click - is it possible in Origin to plot similarly? A real annoyance not to be able to replicate an Excel graph in Origin, IMHO.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Categorical data is sorted ascendingly in Origin. As a workaround, you can switch the From and To value of X scale.

Thanks
Larry
