I have prepared a bar graph using Origin for publication. The columns have different fill colours and patterns. For my figure legend how do i construct boxes containing the same fill colours and patterns??? I will be preparing my figure legends using Microsoft Word.

Hi Deanna

Thanks for your reply. I managed to create some symbols using the manual control commands in the text control box. However i had trouble with patterns. I have a column graph filled with medium, sparse and dense patterns. What is the command for patterns???

Also i want to transfer the symbols to Microsoft Word. How do i do this?? I tried copying and pasting but this did not work.

Thanks.

Hi,

In this case, you may have to create your custom legend manually. Please see
the "Manually forming the legend's data plot symbols" section here:
