Is there a way to format positive and negative values in a bar chart differently? I know I can move the positive and negative data to different columns and color them differently that way and overlay plots, but it would be easiest if one could specify the bar color conditionally.

I have Origin v7.5 r6.

I answered my own question!

Create three y datasets. 1 Column for positive values, 1 column with all 0 values (or midpoint value), and 1 column for the negative values.

Create a floating column chart using the three y columns as you data and whatever x (category) column you might have. You can then color the positive values (Column B) separate from the negative (Column E).
