Origin Ver. 8 and SR 2 (Select Help-->About Origin):

I'm trying to fit multiple gaussians. I can't figure out how to fix the baseline to 0 rather than having it as a fitting parameter. The program uses a Y0 at about the level of the minima of the data in the region between the two adjacent peaks.

I suggest you to update SR2 to SR4. You can select Help: Check for Updates in the main menu or you can download the file through this webpage: http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?s=9&lm=76

I am not sure if you use the tool of Peak Analyzer. If you use this tool to fit peaks, in the report sheet, maybe you will see the value Baseline (Constant) is 0. However, this value is a parameter of function, and it does not stand the baseline is 0.

If you want to change the baseline to 0. When you choose Constant in Baseline Mode, you can select Custom, and then enter 0 in the edit box.
