I have a question conerning the Mann-Whitney Test in Origin 8.

Consider I have two columns A and B.
I want to test A versus B.

I always get the error message
"Grouping range should have two levels".

How exactly do I place the columns?
What do I put in group range and what in data range?

Thanks for help.

How about providing raw data/indexed data options (like in ANOVA) so it is not always needed to reorganize data ?

Hi Matthias,

There are two ways to solve the problem.

Method 1
If you want to use the Mann-Whitney Test tool (Statistics: Nonparametric Tests: Mann-Whitney Test), you need to reorganize your data as the following image shows. And select col(B) as Group Range, col(A) as Data Range after you opened the tool.

Method 2
If you don't want to change your datasets' organization, you can change to use the (NPH) Two Independent Samples tool (Statistics: Nonparametric Tests: (NPH) Two Independent Samples). And set the dialog as the image shows
