Is there any way to get the text tool to wrap automatically so a message can be multipe lines. Entering a CR puts multiple spaces between the lines, so doesn't work for me.

Thanks for any help, and sorry for asking what must seem like such a basic question.

You can control the space between multiple lines from the Options dialog, opened by selecting Tools:Options. Go to the Text Fonts tab and set the Line Spacing.
