I am experiencing weird problems with origin menu commands. Several menus does not funciton include: plot setup, add plot to layer , layer management, theme organizer, X-function builder etc. The symptom is I click the menu, but no dialogue windows appear.
Some menue when I click does give a dialogue box, but the window looks wierd. I attached a screen shot of one diaglouge window. This menu commond include: fit function organizer, template lib, X-function script sample.
I have uninstall and reinstall the software several times with either procompiled files installed or not. But the same problems persist.

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 5:39:38 PM I solve the problem.. Maybe.. First of all, you need to download vsflex8l.ocx from internet: I found it in 4shared.com, writing "download vsflex8l.ocx" in google (you need to register to 4shared.com, but it's not a problem: it's free!). You have to save it in C:\. Now, you need to open a new notepad file, in which you must write: regsvr32.exe C:\vsflex8l.ocx Then, save it as RegOcx.cmd Finally, you have to run it as administrator and that's it!
My OS is windows Vista, but I think that it also works in Windows XP or Seven..
If any error message should appear, don't worry: it works anyway!
Good Luck!
;D
whatever works.. |

I tried to look through internet for the error code, but find no resolution that can solve my problem. The ocx file still cannot be registered. |

Posted - 02/16/2009 : 04:12:02 AM For some reason your computer has security setting that does not allow such ocx to be installed.
Maybe you can google this to see if that can help you?
"0x80020009 regsvr32"

I followed your advice to the link and do the %A = system.path.program$; run -e regsvr32 "%Avsflex8l.ocx"; commond in the script box.
but I keep having the error message: dllregisterserver in vsflex8l.ocx failed, return code was:0x80020009.
I also tried a clean installment, but still failed. I am sure my account is administrator.

Posted - 02/13/2009 : 05:28:19 AM This problem has been reported before, see this
http://www.originlab.com/www/support/resultstech.aspx?ID=990&language=English&Version=8
For some reason, a third copy ActiveX failed to be registered during installation. Maybe you can also try running the installation with Administrator privilege to fix this, or just follow the instruction on the link given above.

Posted - 02/13/2009 : 04:26:54 AM Hi michamy,
It looks like we can not reproduce the problem. Would you mind to help us to reproduce the problem?
Could you first open the Code Builder and then open the Fitting Function Organizer dialog? To open Code Builder, click the Code Builder button on the Origin Standard toolbar. In the Output edit box(In lower left part of the Code Build dialog, you can click ALT+2 to open/close it), you may get some error messages. If have, could you please send to us?
And could you cleanly reinstall Origin, which means to install Origin in an empty folder and set Origin User File Folder to an empty folder. It may work.
Best regards, Vincent Liu OriginLab Technical Services
