Posted - 03/06/2009 : 06:05:51 AM I want to plot error bars in x-direction for curves or fitted curves. The errors I want to specify. Is it possible to do that?
E.G.
x y 1 3 2 4
Fit it with a sigmoid function and indicate an error bar at y=0.5 with 1.
Thanks for help.

Posted - 03/10/2009 : 01:50:33 AM I don't know which version of Origin you are using. So I assume that you are using the latest version--Origin 8.
For plotting, you can first set the columns with proper plotting designations such as X, Y, X error and Y error and then select them and click the desired plot type on the 2D Graphing toolbar. Or, you can just use the Plot Setup dialog. Please see here for detailed information on this dialog.
As for fitting with weight, please see: http://www.originlab.com/www/helponline/Origin8/en/regression_and_curve_fitting/fitting_with_errors_and_weighting.htm
