Hello,

I try to fit exponential growth with OriginPro 7.0, but I get an error message when I try to use it to analyse my data. It is said that my parameters are not properly initialized. While using the same data and same Origin version on different computer the fit works properly.

I'll be grateful if ypu could you advice me to fix the problem.

The data for fit is
212 4
339 3659
341 3793
343 4121
344 3508
346 4144
348 3332
350 3687
351 3662
353 3793
355 3789
357 4509
358 4249
360 3953
362 4405
364 4563
365 4467
367 4129
369 3896

I know this topic is pretty old, but I have a very similar problem. I use Origin 7 SR3, and the parameters will not properly initialize for a large selection of non-linear curve fits, with a wide range of data. I can replicate this problem on a different computer (using the same Origin version). I have tried resetting the fitter, and reinstalling Origin, but with no luck.

To give more information about the error: If I use the advanced fitting tool, when I try to execute the parameter initialization script, it says "Error during compilation", and if compilation is attempted in the Code Builder, it gives the slightly more detailed error:

C:\Program Files\OriginLab\Origin7\OriginC\system\internal.c(345) :Error, external DLL cannot find function @OUTL : fabs

The actual fitting routines themselves work fine, but it's a pain having to guess and enter initial parameter values manually!

Thanks,
Richard

Hi, Hanan

Please open "NonLinear Curve Fitting" dialog box, in "Action" tab, select "Reset Fitter". Then try to fit your data.

If the problem still exists, I suggest that you can cleanly reinstall Origin. Please install Origin in an empty folder.

Best regards,
Emily
