Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): Origin8 SR1
Operating System: XP prof.

I have a script that uses the "open excel as origin worksheet" feature in Origin 7.5. I do not find or can set this in version 8. The script begins with inserting a column to be the first column (work -i 0) and this seemingly does not work with the opened spreadsheet. Is there a workaround?

Thanks: Oszkoa

Origin 8 now has a File:Import Excel menu that calls the impExcel x-function. You can use this x-function in your script to bring in your Excel data. Once you have the data in an Origin worksheet, the work -i command should work.
