Hi,

I just installed the network 32 bit version and have found a few bugs with it.
Some of the bugs have already been posted on the Forum and responded by the
MicroCal development team (i.e. the OLE support and the ascii export
function).
There are couple of other bugs that I have not seen posted and would like some
help on by other users and the MicroCal development team. The first bug is
that
if you save your file with a long file name and try to open the file by
double-
clicking the file name, Origin would startup but would give a message saying
that the file name could not be found. Specifically, if you named your file
as "c:\projects\test for long file name", Origin would startup and give the
message saying that the file "c:\projects\test.opj" could not be found. The
program actually truncates the name to just test.opj. Also, if you are to
save
a file on a network drive such as
"e:\user_name\Projest_1\Model Cal\test for long file name"
When you go and open the file by double-clicking the file name on the network
drive,Origin starts up and gives a message saying
"e:\user_name\Project_1\Model.opjfile not found".
In this case, the program uses the directory name as a file by attaching a
*.opj
to it.

One final, when you save a file, the file name is capitalised even though you
have only specify the first letter of the name to be in capital.

I thank you for your assistance and response for solutions with these bugs.

Regards,

Thanh Trung

The ong filenames fix is not complete

The the recent patch fixed the problems with long filenames and spaces for
project files. It did not fix the same problem with .OGG files. This means
that Origin is not yet fully Win 95 compatable. Does anyone have a fix.

RE: Long file name - Unable to find file

The problem with spaces in long file names has been fixed in Patch1 for Origin 4.1. You can download this patch directly from our website.
The capitalization of long filenames is also a known problem. However, it is not yet fixed in our most recent patch. It will be fixed for our next patch or Origin version 5.0. I will add your comments to our database. Thank you.
