Hi there,

I would like to plot a contour on the ternary diagram. I work around by adding a contour plot as another layer on the ternary diagram as shown in the picture below. The problem is I can't remove the contour area outside the ternary diagram. Can anybody help me.

Thank you,
wb072

Hi:

The question is, why you do like that?

In your example, I think you created a contour and a ternary plot respectively, and merged them, right? In Origin, We plot 2D contour on XY orthogonal coordinates, while plot ternary on XYZ non-orthogonal coordinates. Overlapping two different coordinates doesn't make scenes.

So I guess you want a Ternary Contour plot. This kind of plot requires 4 data columns, X, Y, Z and F, where F is the contour value at the point (X, Y, Z). We have implemented Ternary Contour in the next version, Origin 8.1, which will be released later.

Thanks
Larry
