Hello,

I used the ATI to develop dll-files for Origin 4.0. When I use a dll-file
(which runs under origin 4.0 very well) under Origin 4.1, I always get the
error message "dll-file not found". But when I load the dll-file with
Origin4.0 switch than to origin 4.1 I also have access to dll-file, and
no error message appears. Are the dll-file I developed under origin 4.0
not valid for Origin 4.1? Or what is the problem in this case?

Recompiling 16-bit DLL as 32 bit

How do you recompile 16bit to 32 bit DLLs?

Re: 16 bit ATI DLLs written for 4.0 will not run under 4.1 32 bit Origin

Hello,

I have read your answer mail, and then I tried the same 16-bit dll under
16-bit Origin 4.0 and it works, but if I tried it under 16-bit Origin 4.1
(win 3.11) the same error message appeared as in my the first email mentioned.

Of course I have only the Ati-Package for Origin 4.0, and not the professional
Origin 4.1. But the thing that makes me wonder is, if I load the dll under
Origin 4.0 and after this I start Origin 4.1, the dll is working allright.
So for me it looks like, if Origin 4.1 has a problem with loading the dll.
It this possible?

16 bit ATI DLLs written for 4.0 will not run under 4.1 32 bit Origin

A 32-bit executable can not run 16-bit DLLs.
This is true for all applications, not just Origin.
If you try this in Origin, you will get the error message you mentioned about
the DLL not being found. Since I know that your Origin 4.0 ATI DLLs are
16-bit,(otherwise they never would have worked with 4.0) and further since 4.1
is our first 32-bit version, I suspect this is exactly what happened.

If this is true, there are two possible solutions:

1) You can install the 16-bit version of Origin 4.1 and run your DLLs with
this.
2) You can recompile your DLLs as 32-bit DLLs.

Either one of these options should do the trick.
