Dear forum members,

I have a question about the meaning of an error message I get when I try to fit data with a custom fitting function.
Usually my fitting functions compile sucessfully and do work for the fitting even when multiple independent variables are involved.

The function I'm having a problem with does compile successfully as well, but when I assign my columns to the variables I get the error message:
"Vector operation dimension check error"
The fitting starts but the fit does not give a reasonable result (the program still claims the fit converged).
I even determined the parameters roughly by calculation and inserted the final values as initial value, but I guess the problem originates from the error described above.

Can somebody give me a hint what that means. I can also provide the fdf, formula and some data.

Best wishes

Hi,

I suggest that you first patch to SR6 (which is the latest service release, you may need to do this in multiple steps to get to SR6 as you are at SR1, use the Help->Check for Updates menu)

Then if the problem still persists, please send your OPJ(data), your fitting function (FDF) and the initial parameter values you use, to tech support, so we can try reproduce the problem and see what goes wrong. Please refer to this post when sending in your file by e-mail to tech.

Thanks,

Easwar
