Has anyone else already encountered this problem?

A crash will occur when an y-axis break is set, y-values of zero exist in the
dataset(s) plotted and the y-axis range starts with zero. When using the Copy
Page command, fitting functions are loaded (why that???) followed by a math
error. Peculiar effects can be monitored afterwards - plots, worksheets and
even the button line become invisible and cannot be redrawn by CTRL-W. This not
enough, ressources get low like ice melting in the hot summer sun.

If the start of the y-axis is set to 0.01, this can be avoided. However, plots
obtained this way do not look too well due to their "thickened" x-axis.

Similarly, if data points with x-values equalling the upper limit of the x-axis
are to be plotted under the same circumstances, they do not show up in a page
copy. This can be avoided by setting the upper limit of the x-axis to a
slightly greater value (e.g., 300.1 instead of 300).

The results of both workarounds do not look attractive. Does anybody know of a
better way to avoid these errors?

bug with y-axis break - solution

No answers to my request - have I been the only one?

Anyway...

The "Copy Page" command of Origin 4.1 will cause a crash if the plot plot in
question has an y-axis break (from 0 to any value) and data points with y=0 AND
"CLIP DATA TO FRAME" IS DEACTIVATED to prevent data points to be cut off at the
edge of the plot.

The solution?

"Clip Data to Frame" has to be enabled. Cutting off of data points is prevented
by choosing negative "Clipping Margins", e.g. -1%. Then, "Copy Page" will work
fine, as it ought to.

Easy to do, but hard to find out...

bug with y-axis break? additional data

Sorry, I forgot to provide some information on the Origin version I'm using:
It's Origin 4.1 with the Patch 2 (16 bit) running under Windows 3.11

The crashes occur since I have installed the patch. Before, the pages were
copied to the clipboard alright, but for data points with an y-value of zero no
symbols were drawn. That's not the real thing, too, I suppose...
