Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.1SR1
Operating System: Win XP

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx
The /3GB switch allocates 3 GB of virtual address space to an application. Does Origin 8.1 support this, i.e. can this flag be used to extend the memory used by Origin?
Thanks -- Ralf

Hi,

We have done some testing on this, and it appears that an improvement can be expected when using /LARGEADDRESSAWARE .

We are not going to ship the next SR of Origin 8.1 with this feature, though. We might do it for a future version of Origin.

However, anybody can easily enable this feature in their copy of Origin EXE. All that is needed is to have Microsoft's editbin utility and execute this on Origin's executable:

editbin /LARGEADDRESSAWARE Origin81.exe

(or on any other executable for that matter).
