Hello every one,

I could not fit my data into a Gaussian function in Origin 4.1. Each time it
gives an error massege as: exception 10H in module 032NLF41.dll at
014f:00bf1889. What does it mean? But it is ok to fit the data in the
Lorentian function. I once install and deinstall ISIS, a chemical drawing
program in my computer, and since then, the Origin does not work correctly.
Though I know that it must be caused by this ISIS, I could not find out which
file has been changed. I greatly appreciate your help in indentifying the
problem.

unable to do Gaussian fitting

The fact that you can not fit using the Gaussian function and can
fit using the Lorentzian function is a tricky one. Since we are
unable to reproduce such a problem here, there are some things that
you might try doing to eliminate the problem:

1) It is always good practice to reboot Windows, whether it is
Windows 95 or NT so that the crash is erased from memory.
2) If you have not already done so, go to the Technical Services
section on the Microcal website and download Origin 4.1 Patch
2. To determine if you already have the patch (so that you
do not duplicate effort, go to Help: About Origin. In there
it should say SR2 next to the version and bit information if
you have the patch. If not, you should get it! It may be that
if you have NT the crash is being caused by some sort of
conflict that Origin and Windows NT were having.

If you have already addressed both of these issues and still are
not able to fit using the Gaussian, the problem is most likely
system specific and will require more information to be solved.
In this case you would need to contact the Microcal Technical
Services staff. Our technical support engineers should be able to
help further given that you are able to provide us with a bit more
information than what you have posted on the Forum. You can use
the following email address or calling information to contact us.
