In Origin 4.1, after one entered text in a text control dialog box, there was
a keyboard shortcut for the "Ok" button; Alt+O. This was very handy because
one could enter text and exit the dialog box quickly without having to move
from the keyboard to the mouse. Now, in Origin 5.0, this shortcut no longer
works. Any chance that you will bring it back in a future version? It's
a pain having to tab through all the buttons, or use the mouse.

Product Evaluation

Steve,
I know how frustrating it is to navigate through dialog boxes without the
needed keyboard shortcuts. Improvements will be reviewed for version 6.0.
I do want to assure you that we have a very active QA Department that takes
this issue seriously!

See my post a couple of messages ago, and the responses it generated. The
upshot is that they tried to make their shortcuts compatible with Microsoft,
so that the return key triggers the "OK" button, but forgot they already
used the return key for other functions, such as newline in the text control
box or the Add Function Graph dialog box. So, we're stuck using the mouse
until they fix it (V6.0? Don't hold your breath - look at the (long) list
of bugs still in V5.0). In case you hadn't noticed, Origin doesn't have a
Product Evaluation Department; they simply use their customers.

and another text control box question...

Another little gripe... what happened to the scroll bar in the text
control dialog box? Are arrow keys the only way to move around within
a long line of text? The scroll bars in version 4.1 were annoying,
because they didn't work like scroll bars in other Windows applications;
when you clicked in the space above or below the bar, the contents of the
window only moved over by a few characters, instead of by the width of
the window. But even those scroll bars were better than nothing.
