I create a custom report sheet, and do "Save window as..." to be able to use the formatting of the custom report sheet for other data files.
If I then do import ascii and chose a file, and choose "replace existing data", everything is fine, but if I want to import multiple files in the same way, it creates new books, without the report sheet. I would like to create multiple books with both the new dataset, and the custom report sheet. Is that possible?

Hi,
When you save the OGW file (Save Window As...), save it to your User Files Folder (UFF).
Then in Import Wizard, the Template drop-down will pick up and show such OGWs from the UFF so you can then easily select multiple files, select the OGW as template and set Import mode to new book.
When saving ogw, save it with data sheet active so the data from the file will go into active sheet.
In version 8.1 we have a Batch Processing tool which works much nicer than having to use Import Wizard in this manner. The Batch Processing tool can also provide a summary sheet of desired info from each file. You can watch this movie:

Hi:
You'd better save the workbook as Template. Right-click the workbook title bar and select "Save Template As...".
Then, when importing files with Import Wizard, in the Source page, select the template you saved from Template drop-down, and choose Start New Books from Import Mode.
