Hi,

I would like to generate a matrix from some random XYZ-data that contains Z-values summing up values for each X/Y-step (accumulated amount in each separate square). Anybody that can help me on how to achieve this?

Thanks,
Bjorn

This feature is not supported in current Origin version.

Thanks

Hi,

I´m afraid that I did not describe my problem in a very good way. What I really wish to do is more like an expansion of the function in the 2D binning. Instead of computing sum, mean or max values for each defined Y-bin, I would like to do this calculations for corresponding cells in another column, eg. column C.
The output should then be three columns, the two first containg bin intervals for X and Y and a third column showing the computed sum of values in the C column for the corresponding pair of X- and Y-bins. From this I could then generate my 3D bar graph!

Does this call for some nested loopings and therefore perhaps should be done in Origin C (which I´m not at all familiar with).

first ,create 3 coloum mumber.
then select the 3 column number ,then choose the edit---convert to matrix ,that is ok!

good luck!
