Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with creating a robust code for fitting certain types of spectra.

I am interested in setting the x-axis center parameters for multiple Voigt lines to deconvolute the spectra and obtain the areas of each one.
I know that this has probably been done before but I am having a difficult time understanding how other people's problems relate to mine and how to configure their code to fit my data.

My goal is to have the Voigt centers strictly defined in a worksheet column ,such as Book2 Column A, and then to have also FWHMs in the next column but have them be able to be varied by a set percentage, such as 8% or something.

Should I use the Fitting Function Organizer to develop the function and then access that through OriginC through LT_execute() or would it be more efficient to just use OriginC?

I've been having trouble getting the Fitting Function Organizer to accept multiple centers as parameter initialization.
For example, is it even possible to do this in the Voigt Fitting Function Organizer > Parameter Initialization Box?

Hi,

The Pro version of Origin has a Peak Analyzer tool that can load in a set of peak centers/amplitudes. But that tool currently does not have ability to specify "allow peaks to vary by 8%". One can set lower and upper bounds individually, but cannot specify as a percentage, we will look into supporting that.

For now you could try fitting your data with your known peaks using script access to NLfit tool. This may work for your data if no complex baseline correction is needed. You can see this page for more details, this is based on 8.1, not sure if all functions are there in 8.0, you can download 8.1 demo and try:
