Hello everybody,

IŽd like to plot a 3D column graph with a z-axis (sensor data dependend on x
AND y) and x- and y-axis (analyte concetrations). I succeeded doing this as a
scatter graph but for columns origin 5.0 doesnŽt accep it and creates always a
graph with 2 data rows.

Any hints would preserve me from a heart attack
thanks

Till

Response to 3D Bar Plots

Till,

In regards to 3D column plotting:

Based on the information that you have provided it appears as though you are trying to plot a 3D column graph (in a contour fashion) by going to Plot:3D Charts:Bars. As you have discovered, this does not work successfully. The reason for this has to do with the fact that this particular plot type is designed for two Y columns (not one Z column).

One thing that you might want to try is a conversion of your data into matrix form (Edit:Convert to Matrix) and then a subsequent Plot3D:3D-Color Map Surface. Once you have done this you can double-click on the plot to bring up the Surface Plot Options and select Bars from the Type of Surface section. I would suggest referring to the 3D and Contour manual for directions on how to convert your data to a matrix and plot it. Will this work for you?
