Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):Origin 8.0
Operating System: Windows Vista, 32 bit

Please let me know how to sort the entries in a column in the reverse order.
Eg: I want to make the following entry:
3
2
8
6

to be sorted as:
6
8
2
3

Sorting by ascending/descending order obviously will not work. Please help!

Hi Sarath 2010,

Flipping column is a new feature in Origin 8.5.1, which will be released very soon!

For a workaround in version 8.0, you can insert a row number column to the left of the column you want to flip, and then sort these two columns. That is:

1. Select the column you want to flip, right-click and select Insert from the context menu. This will add a new column to the left of the selected column.
2. Select this new added column, right-click and select Fill Column With: Row Numbers.
3. Select both the row number column and the column you want to flip, right click and select Sort Columns: Descending.

Then both columns will be sorted in the reverse order.

If you want to sort the whole worksheet, select Sort Worksheet.
