Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: I'm using a trial of 8.5, and hoping that using this software (I couldn't see how to do this in Excel) I can plot two data columns as an x-y scatter plot, but I'd like another column's data to allow the plot-points to become 3D columns, the height of which indicates the number of plot-points on each spot.

I'm working with survey responses, which doesn't matter, but may help understand the data I'm using a smidge.

Thanks! :)

Hi:

How about 3D scatter plot with XY Projection lines?

Use the 3rd column as Z column, and plot a 3D scatter (Plot: 3D XYZ: 3D Scatter). Double-click to bring up the Plot Details dialog and then check the "XY Projection" checkbox on the left panel.

Thanks
Larry
