I am testing a Origin 8.5 and a have a larger problem, when a do a plot in origin and copy this plot and past in word 2010 in the first moment is fine, but after to close the archive. After close word and reopen the link to origin is created automatic, however, when I closed the word the origin85.exe file hold openned. I have that to close one-by-one of the origin85.exe open. This is normal???

Currently have Office 2007 with no problems but thinking about upgrading to 2010. Good to see that should be no problems with Originlab which is a relief because of the Office price tag!
I only buy original software even though my brother-in-law says he can get the same thing for half price or better but he knows how to fix probs - I don't.

Hi guys,

I am greatly surprised at this since I've used originlab before with MS 2007 and it worked great. Now I am using MS 2010 and it's still good.

Please try to update your softwares or ensure that your softwares are original.

What would be the best way to test it on Mac?

I have the same concern using 2007 and I did try that and it worked fine. I don't know about using office 2010 though but I'm going to try it if it will work the same.

I have Office 2003 and I had to same problem. So I do not think the version of Office matters.

Hi:

Can you check which Origin SR you are using? The latest patch for 8.5 is SR1. And you can see this information from "Help -> About Origin".

I tried to reproduce your problem by the following steps:

1. Create a simple graph in Origin 8.5.
2. Open Word2010.
3. Copy the graph, and paste to Word.
4. Close Origin. Save the Word file as docx and close Word2010.
5. Open Word2010 and bring up the file just saved.
6. Double the graph in Word. --> Now Origin opens
7. Close Word. --> Now there is still an Origin session, but not graph in it.

Are you saying this Origin window in step7? If so, it's normal because closing Word will not kill Origin. Why you don't close Origin directly after you make some changes?

Thanks
Larry
