Hello

I have a set of points and I have plotted them, nicely and made regression. But I have a theoretical model and I would like to plot those curves on the same plot.

I found the Simulate Curve in Analyse tab, but if I draw with that it will draw the curve on a different plot :
So how can I do that?

Thanks

To correct my previous post : The [Graph1]1!(<new>,<new>) syntax actually does NOT work. The trick is to start with the graph that you want to add to as your active graph.

So make your graph active, press F9 to open Function Organizer and Simulate will add to your graph window.

I can't seem to get it on the same graph :
I'm doing all the steps, but it's not working. My graph is Graph12, so I changed that but it still makes a new independent graph.

If I add those points to the worksheet, how can I make a line on the same graph? Every time I try to add it it messes up the original graphs...

EDIT:

I have figured it out, it works now. Thank you ^^

You can use the Output of the Simulation dialog to direct your curve to an existing plot.
Suppose you have your fit and regression in Layer1 of Graph1.
Open the Function Organizer and click Simulate.
Enter the parameter values of your theoretical model.
Enter the X Minimum, X Maximum and number of X Points.
In the Output branch where it says (<new>,<new>),
type
[Graph1]1!(<new),<new>)
and click OK and Origin will send the curve to your graph.

Of course when you create a simulation curve, you are also creating worksheets with the data. These are hidden by default, but you can add that data to any graph using any of Origin's standard means of adding data to a graph layer.
