Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System:

Hello everyone,

I am using Origin 8 and I'd like to know how can I set values when I create a direct matrix from a worksheet :
row from x to y
col from x to y

Indeed I would like to take every rows and columns apart from the first and last ones.

Thank you.

Hi Couta,

Please let me know the version number and the Service Release(SR)
number of your Origin("Help: About Origin" menu).

As far as I tried my versions 8.0I(SR6) and 8.5.1, they worked.
If your Origin is even older, I suspect this part has been fixed
in the later version/SR.

By some reason, when the "Recalculate" mode is "Auto", the range settings are disabled. I will talked to the developers why it works like in this way, and it might be a bug. Meanwhile, you can change the "Recalculate" option in the dialog to "None". As far as I tried on my machine, this work-around worked.

Hi,

Thanks again but I tried and the result is still the same : disabled.
Let me know if you find any other solution.

Hi Couta,

Sorry, but it is not clear for me what exactly you want to perform. Ingeneral, if you want to convert a worksheet to a matrix directly, you can choose "Worksheet: Convert Matrix: Direct" menu, then choose the format of the data. See detail at the section in Origin help:
Matrix Conversion and Gridding> Direct Worksheet to Matrix Conversion

If you have already a matrix, and want to set the values in cells by a formula, you can use Set Values toll by choosing "Matrix: Set Values" menu.

Maybe you can clarify further what you want to do.

Hi,

First of all thanks for answering.
The problem is :
"In general, if you want to convert a worksheet to a matrix directly, you can choose "Worksheet: Convert Matrix: Direct" menu, then choose the format of the data. See detail at the section in Origin help:
Matrix Conversion and Gridding> Direct Worksheet to Matrix Conversion

If you have already a matrix, and want to set the values in cells by a formula, you can use Set Values toll by choosing "Matrix: Set Values" menu."

Everything is fine here, but once the set values window is opened,
there is an option to change the first row and column s number till a finish number.
But I want to change it.

The default start number is 1, I want to start from the second column.
