Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Origin 8.0724 (B724)

I have a problem with saving my project. It takes several minutes, even though the file is only around 13MB. There is a lot of coloums that calls a script, which is set to calculate manual. I also tried to set auto update to off before saving.

I have search the forum, and it seems others have reported the same problem, but I couldn't find a solution.

There are a lot of books (around 100) and sheets (around 150), but there is not a lot of data in each book.

How do I make origin save my project faster?

Just for readers of this thread:

The problem of slow saving in Origin 8.0 Anders pointed out has been already addressed and resolved in Origin 8.5/8.5.1. If someone has similar problem, I suggest to try the evaluation version of Origin to see if your problem matches to this case.

It works now. I should use 'delete' instead of 'hide' rows.

I also have problems when handling a large set of data.

I had a worksheet with a few columns of data. Later on I inserted a column with 200K rows of data. Then origin responded slowly even ofter restarted. After that even I have deleted that column of data, there are still 200k empty rows exist and Origin doesn't respond if I try to select and hide all empty rows at a time. How should I resolve this problem?

Btw is there a setting to automatically hide empty rows? Thanks in advance.
