How can I export data from an origin sheet into .csv format using the export function. The data I have is in german format where in "," is used as a decimal separator instead of ".".
When I export the data in .csv format, I cant open the data in excel and read as the is no differentiation between the separtor "," and the decimal ","
Any related info would be greatly appreciated. |

Thanks for the reply. I am aware of the export using the TAB as separator and it works for now. It would be very helpful if ";" can be used instead of "," as separator when dealing with the german data formats. As I understand that is considered a standard.
Thanks again |

When you export the worksheet data as a CSV file in German environment (set comma as a decimal separator in Windows), Origin outputs like:"1,23","4,56","7,89" By some reason, Excel seems not recognizing the syntax of double-quoted numbers (but, I think it should). At this moment, could you please try to export as ASCII (as a .DAT file) using the TAB as the separator? When I tried so, Excel can open the file correctly.
Unfortunately, in Origin, when the data is exported as CSV, you cannot choose e.g., the semicolon as the separator. I will ask OriginLab developers to include this option in future release.
