Hey guys!
I'm having some trouble with displaying a simple line plot of my data. I basically have a time column and a data column and I want to plot the data against the time as a line plot but the software always returns a bar plot. The result always looks like that:
The weird thing is that in other project files which contain data that has the same structure this does not happen. It always returns a clean line plot. Help anyone?

I figured out what the problem was :) It appears that there was some kind of German/English decimal separator conflict. I use a German Windows 7 Version but an English Version of Origin. So Origin thought that the data column contains 10.000 and not 10,000 values which also explains the scaling of the y-axis.
Nonetheless, thanks for your suggestion!

Posted - 08/08/2011 : 09:59:56 AM HI,
Hmmm.... it's wired. Your graph looks like: - Scatter - Symbol size=0 - Vertical Drop Lines turned ON.
Possibly you have used a wrong template to plot this? Please check the following:
1) Double-click the plot to show the Plot Details dialog, and see if the "Plot Type" setting is Scatter, or Line, or something else. 2) Check if there is a Symbol tab in the Plot Details dialog. If there, what are the settings (size, etc.) of the symbols? 3) Choose the Drop Lines tab in the Plot Details dialog, and see if "Vertical" check box is turned ON, or not.
If the above check list doesn't match to your situation, please send your Origin project file by clicking the link "Send File to Tech Support" at the top right corner of this page.
