Is there any way in Origin 5.0 to set the fill color for the legend? This would be handy when using a color for the plot background, such as grey, which would then allow line and symbol colors that do not show up well on white. It would then be nice to also have them show up well in the legend.

There is no option for a fill color for Text Objects (a Legend for example) other than those in the Text Control dialog for Background: White Out and Black Out among others.

As a workaround, you can use a rectangle with appropriate colors and move it underneath the Legend.
