Hi I am new to Origin and currently using Origin 8.

I have a series of noisy and messy curves rom my raw data. The polynomial curve fitting at power5 fitted nicely to my data. Therefore, I only want to represent the polynomial curves in my graph. However, I realise I can't separate the polynomial fitted curves and my original curves, the legend of polynomial fitted curves are also not the same as the original.

Please advice, I only want the polynomial curves with its legend following the legend of my original curves. Is it possible to do that?

Thanks!
Ruili

Hi Ruili,

Instead of turning off the show check box in the left panel of Plot Details to hide, you can right-click, and choose "Remove" to get rid of the plot from the graph. Or, you can simply make a plot from the fitting result in the worksheet. (You can turn OFF the "Plot on Source Graph" option in the fitting tool not to add the plot to your original graph.)

Hi hideo fuji,

thanks so much for the suggestion! it is working but ticking the show box but I don't know how to create a layer containing only polynomial curves....

Thank u very much :)

Hi Ruili,

You can hide the original plot from the Plot Details dialog box such as by:

1) Double-click the plot to show Plot Details dialog.
2) In the left panel of the dialog, you can turn OFF the check box of your
original plot under the layer branch (e.g., Layer1).

Regarding the legend, you can simply edit the legend's text properties
(right-click on the legend, then choose "Properties" flyout)

Does the above work for you?
