Origin Ver.8.6.0 and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Widows XP

I just upgraded from Origin Pro 8.5.1 to 8.6.0. What is the easiest way to set up the custom toolbar I use for processing data?

You can open menu View:Toolbars. In Customize toolbars dialog, Toolbars tab, there's an export button that will export all you settings as opx file.

Once this is done, you can drag and drop this opx into you Origin8.6 workspace.

I tried the opx-file drop. It did not work. I still do not have my buttons and toolbar in the new Origin8.6 window.

Hi,

When you drag and drop the opx into Origin, is there any prompt? You can try the following steps:

1. Select menu Tools: Package Manager to open the Package Manager, and then select menu Tools: Browse Installed Packages.
2. In the pop up dialog, please check whether the opx is installed. If the opx is installed, please uninstall it.
3. Then close the Package Manager, drag and drop the opx into Origin to install it again. So to see whether it is fine or not.

I manually copied the graphic file, uderdef.bmp, and the LabTalk script file, MyTools.ogs, for Mytoolbar from my 8.5 user directory to my new 8.6 user directory. Then I created a new Mytoolbar and built it from scratch. I can use the buttons in Mytoolbar to run my script, but the Tool Tip doesn't display when I hover the cursor over the button. This feature worked fine in ver8.5. Could this be a bug?

Hi,

I have exported an opx from Origin 8.5.1 (also tried in Origin 8.5), and then install it into Origin 8.6 (not like the way you done by manually copying), everything is fine, including the Tool Tip. Maybe you can check whether Tool Tip has been specified for the button.
